About the Brewery

The first-generation founder of Tenranzan, Hisakura, was born in Nakakubiki District, Niigata Prefecture. After working as a master brewer at Ozawa Shuzo’s “Sawanoi” brewery in Ome, he struck out on his own and began brewing sake in Hannō.
The Tenranzan brewery is located at the confluence of the Naguri and Nariki Rivers.

We draw our water from a well fed by underground springs from the pristine, gentle depths of the Okuchichibu Mountains.
The magnificent natural beauty of Hannō—its lush greenery and clear streams—nurtures the light, crisp flavor of Tenranzan.
