"Koedo Kurazato," which preserves the history and culture of Kawagoe for today, is a community facility renovated from the former Kagamiyama Sake Brewery—founded in 1875—to retain the atmosphere of that era.By revitalizing sake breweries built during the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras, the facility has created four distinct spaces—the Souvenir Shop (Meiji Warehouse), the Staff Dining Hall (Taisho Warehouse), the Sake Tasting Room (Showa Warehouse), and the Gathering Hall (Exhibition Warehouse)—each offering its own unique charm.Opened in October 2010, this new landmark serves as a place where residents and tourists can gather and relax while enjoying Kawagoe’s local specialties, regional sake, and food culture. The name “Koedo Kurazato” embodies the hope that this space will serve as a “hometown”-like haven where people can gather and find peace of mind, reflecting the Edo-era atmosphere of Kawagoe’s streetscape.
